Bentonite clay consists of aged volcanic ash also known as “Montmorillonite.” The name comes from the largest known deposit of Bentonite clay located in Rock River, Wyoming, USA. We've included it in our shaving soap to help with razor glide and reducing razor burn.
We're also working towards including it in some of our soaps along with yellow and pink clays. For centuries, mineral rich clay has been used to beautify the skin. The negatively charged ions in the clay attract and draw out toxins to the skin surface and aid gentle exfoliation. Cosmetic grade clays contain a number of nutrients including magnesium, silicate, copper, iron, and potassium – all of which further boost skin health.
