Chämpo (pronounced shar-pour) is the Sanskrit origin of the word ‘shampoo'.

Introduced to Britain from India over a century ago, this ancient practice of ‘cleansing, soothing and massaging the head and hair’ is the inspiration for Chapel Soap's solid shampoo bars.

Traditional Ayurvedic hair cleansing extracts of shikakai, alma, brahmi and fine clay have been combined with hair loving organic oils of broccoli seed, argan and apricot plus essential oils of cedarwood, geranium, rosemary and peppermint to create a number of solid shampoo bars free of palm oil derivatives, sulphates, preservatives and artificial fragrance oils.
